Our Florida Home

2014 was a rough year for me, medically speaking. In April Dave and I travelled to San Diego to visit with his daughter, Diane, and her new husband and with his son, Doug. While there I twisted my bad knee and was in a wheelchair for most of the trip. When we returned I had a Total Knee Replacement with months of Physical Therapy. In October we travelled to the BVI for a delightful cruise with friends Dave & Victoria. In route home we visited friends in Florida where we made the decision to look at real estate. On December 15 I had a heart attack and was rushed to Queens Hospital in Honolulu.

Nothing like bed rest to make one review their "Bucket List". Having a land home, after15 years of living aboard, and 25 years of living abroad, became a real priority. Dave and I decided then that we would purchase a home in Florida and split the year between Hawaii and Florida. I still wanted a Hawaii base because Michael & Greg and their families are there. We love the home we found.

Nothing too large or ostenacious - we found the perfect size, 3.000 ft. including the pool, which is caged for leaf protection, and is a part of the house. Our home is situated on a large lot just covered with greenery. There are 18 trees in all, 2 of which are huge Royal Palms, with loads of floral bushes and plants - hybiscus, gardenias, lilies, spider plants and so on. We adore the yard.
